if I am not running can I participate by being a volunteer?
YES...Volunteers are greatly appreciated and needed! Please visit the Volunteer Info link on this site to get all the information needed on being a volunteer. Students please bring any volunteer hours verification forms you may have from your school.
Will there be port-o-potties along the course?
Yes: Porta Potties will be at every aid station along the course and at the start / finish line. Industry recommendations are 1 unit for every 120 people at start line area. We provide one unit for every 75 people at the start / finish area.
Can I walk the course?
Yes: 4 hours to finish the half marathon, that’s about 15minutes plus per mile. Sooo... walkers are welcome, stroller moms, and walking clubs.
Is the course accurately measured and marked?
Yes: We have measured the course using a GPS watch and checked it three different times with three different runners. That is the best we can do, as you know GPS will vary slightly from time to time but it’s the best we can offer for you. Feel free to check it out on your own watch if you have time prior to the race. There will be mile markers on the course.
When, where and what is Packet pickup?
This is where you pick up your race timing chip, race bib #, and race day t-shirt, ask your pre- race questions, check out the course map. This will be your last chance to register for this race,

Can I pick up my race packet on race day??
YES...you can pick up your race packet on race day at the starting line in Ojai, but we advise you to come early!! There may be hundreds of people doing the same and it may take a little time. We advise you to go to the packet pick-up Saturday before race day instead. Last minute check in on race day begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m. There is NO race day registration.
Can I register for the race at the packet pick-up location?
YES...You can register for the race at the packet pick-up there are NO Discounts Packet pickup and we only accept cash or credit cards, NO CHECKS. You can also register on line or by sending in the registration form. On line registration closes Friday at midnight.
Starting line location:
Mira Monte Elementary School 1216 Loma Dr Ojai, CA 93023, approx 200 parking spaces. Please arrive at the starting line early!
Special safety notes:
All runners must stay on the bike path or in the shoulder/ bike lane along the course on race day. As you approach the Ojai bike path around mile 9.5 you must run all the way up to the signal light at the corner of Baldwin rd and the Ojai Bike path and cross the street in the crosswalk as you enter the bike path and head towards the finish line.
Can I pick up someone else's race items if they cannot make it out on Saturday ?
YES...you can pick up a friend or relatives items bring a note from them signed by them that you are picking up their number.

Is there a refund policy for this race?
Sorry there are no refunds! But you can defer your entry to another one of our races in the future or carry over to next year's event date. Please checkout www.EliteSportsCA.com for all of our events. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
I don’t know the course should I just follow someone?
NO: All athletes are required to know the entire course prior to stepping onto the starting line. Please study the race course map on this site, and maybe drive the course if you have time prior to race day.
What is a wave start and how does it work?
Wave starts are designed to reduce race start congestion and improve your race day running experience. In a wave start, runners start in groups at 2 minute intervals. This way you can run with others who are similar in speed. A wave start will allow you plenty of space along the course, at the aid stations and at the finish line, without affecting your chip time or the time you have to complete the race. On race day you will line up under / behind the banner that best fits your estimated running pace per mile, see chart below.
